You're My (Social) Hero

You're My Hero
In all cultures, there are heroes and there are Heroes. The difference is the attitude that the individual personifies. Heroes make their life into a herald for change: social, political, personal, global, spiritual. Some strive as pioneers to be the first to bring attention to these or other issues. Some use music, art, athletic prowess, writing, public speaking, public office, or other efforts

In each case, they are singular men and women who are admired to an extraordinary level. They can be charismatic or work behind the scenes.
There are many individuals throughout history who could be called a Hero.

Essay assignment & KEY EMPHASIS: Every century offers a lengthy range of names. Pick the ONE person you think best exemplifies the role of Hero, and tell me about them.

Tell me what they did, who they influenced, if it was a particular group, what they did, or are doing, to help uplift Man and Womankind, why they feel (or felt) their issue is/was important, how they are working (or worked) to raise consciousness, and where they work (or worked) with specific examples.

Also…tell me WHY YOU PICKED THEM. VALIDATE HOW THEY HAVE MADE AN IMPRESSION ON OTHER PEOPLE AND YOUR LIFE (IF APPLICABLE) with specific examples.

Uh, no. Your parents, relatives, friends, or other people in general aren't available--unless he or she just won the Nobel or Pulitzer-type Prize in their respective field.
