Numbers and numerals

Numb about Numbers?

•    Spell out numbers that begin a sentence.
•    Use numerals for longer numbers
•    Use a combination of words and numerals for extremely large sums: 4 million; 6 billion; 9 trillion
•    Use numerals for all numbers above nine
•    Use words for fractions: two-thirds (and hyphenate them)

Use numerals for
–     times and dates,
–    decimals and statistics,
–    addresses,
–    chapter, page,
–    scene, and line numbers,
–    Quantities with symbols
–    Scores in sports/games
–    Hyphenate two-word numbers from twenty-one to ninety-nine.
