Cookie Crooked Tail is announcing her new book for 2026

Hello! I'm Cookie Crooked Tail, the kitten!

(I am also called "Gremlin" by Daddy/Mommy because he says I am a LOT of trouble every hour each day)

Attention, please, teachers, young readers-learners, and parents-grandparents and aunts/uncles and cousins who read to children: Cookie Crooked Tail, also known as "Gremlin!", will be with you shortly. (Her real given name is Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, but this is a bit long for a child. Well, maybe not. And I once had a cat named "Buster," which was short for Butterscotch Custard.

And, yes, she and her siblings were all born with crooked tails. Cookie's tail makes a sharp 90-degree angle turn, and then a little wiggle before the end.

This is an e-book because it's short in size (like Cookie), but also because she's only six months old and hasn't done enough (yet) to create more mischief in her/my life. (She's working on it hourly, if not daily.) It's a VERY short little e-book in content (she's ONLY six months old, but already a handful of trouble on an hourly basis).

My name was Oreo, and I am also a children's book

After only eight years with me, a very sweet, funny, and special boy cat has left me and his brother and sister cats here, and we will miss him so much. No replacing him, either: he was the most gentle cat I have ever seen, and so willing to adapt to changes in homes that happened to us.

My thought is that if you have a special dog or cat: if you need something to do or just feel the creative urge, write stories about your pet. Include pictures. And then you can publish it for some little boy or girl to use to learn to read. And you and the memory of your pet will grow in the hearts of those children.

I wrote this a few years ago, but now it is all I have aside from my memories and pictures. But I also have the hope that some child will find this funny, just as I did as I watched it all happen. And the thoughts of my dear friend, Oreo, also called "The Flumps," will bring some happiness again. I miss him so much already.

Hello! Let me tell you my name. I am The Flumps. I live with a person who feeds me.    He loves me a lot too. I agree: I am worth it.

My real name is “Oreo” like the cookie. I am three years old. I was a Christmas present for a young girl who lived with her grandmother and her service dog. But the person who feeds me and keeps me warm calls me “Flumps.”

That is what he says I do: I fall down and go “flump” on the bed or the rug when I am tired. It feels good, and then I sleep.

(You need to read more about me in the book...)

How the Platypus got its strange...parts: a children's book

Poor Platypus from Australia is afraid of Mr. Dingo-dog and his kind because they hunt all kinds of animals. And Platypus has no kind of defense! So he asks his friends for advice and help.
But Mr. Ostrich has long legs and can run fast, and Mrs. Kangaroo can jump far away very quickly, and wise Brother Koala hides in a tree which no one else likes to eat—and poor Platypus has nothing!
So Platypus asks Mother Nature for help—but there’s a problem! See, Platypus keeps asking for more and more and more! And he won’t stop—until Mother Nature is mad because he wants too much! And that’s why poor Platypus now is “the creature that is half-animal and half-bird,” and everyone thinks he is the strangest-looking thing in Australia!

Here is the first, “original story” from the aboriginal people of Australia about the origins of this strange animal, and also a new, “original story” by me and my fascination for the platypus.
