Julius Erving was such a boost to our enthusiasm for learning basketball as we were growing up, especially in high school years. Before there was Michael Jordan, in our lifetime, there was Dr. J. The man could and did fly through the air--and we all saw that foul line All-Star dunk.
That blue, red, and white ball was great to see spin on your shot. It also inspired a lot of tricks.
